Mewtwo's Guides- LUCARIO! By ShinyMewtwo3

Updated: Jun 11, 2022

This is Mewtwo's Legion's Guide to Lucario!

Name a Pokemon that has maintained its place in the tier list in Pokemon UNITE for a very long time. If you ask an experienced Trainer this question, he/she/they will probably say Lucario. This is actually true. In the opinions of our Mewtwo Trainers, we all agree with this statement. However, we also agree that setting up a build for it- and actually playing it- is extremely difficult. How do you do it? Let our Mewtwo Trainers explain!

Lucario has been a staple on many competitions. The first choice every Lucario Trainer has to make is; what move will I choose first? In our Mewtwo Trainers' opinion, Quick Attack is the superior choice. Not only does it deal slightly more damage, Quick Attack also has a lower cool-down and provides an early-game mobility option. In addition, after defeating and knocking out just 1 wild Pokemon, the second move, Meteor Mash, will be unlocked.

The next choices are the other moves- let us start with the Level 5 move. This gives you a choice between Extreme Speed and Power-Up Punch. Extreme Speed does not deal much damage, but it does have a longer range and lower cool-down. Choose this move if you want to invest in mobility. This move can also deal considerable damage!

On the other hand, Power-Up Punch, although not having a range as long, also provides a mobility option on top of dealing more damage. Choose Power-Up Punch if you are more interested in dealing damage (like our team leader ShinyMewtwo3)!

The Level 7 moves are arguably the hardest choice to make to play Lucario. A choice has to be made between Close Combat and Bone Rush. Bone Rush, although it has a longer cool-down, deals less damage and is significantly harder to play. However, a good Bone Rush player will be rewarded with an extremely mobile Lucario that could possibly outrun Zeraora, one of the most mobile characters in the entire game!

However, Close Combat is a close competitor, dealing much more damage than Bone Rush and having a slightly shorter cool-down. This is a prime choice if your Lucario is more damage-focused as it can deal insane amounts of melee damage this way, as observed in first-person perspective by ShinyMewtwo3!

The next major choice is held items. We recommend the Score Shield and Attack Weight, as they can be major aids in scoring! Our last item will be fluid and adaptable, but the choice from ShinyMewtwo3 is the Energy Amplifier, as you will find yourself using your Unite Move quite often in team-fights!

The next decision to make is our battle item! If a more mobility-focused build is used, X Speed or Eject Button can be a great tool in mobility and can be used both offensively and defensively. However, a more offense-focused Lucario Trainer (like our ShinyMewtwo3!) would prefer the Potion as it provides more sustainability to the already sustainable Lucario.

The last decision is which lane your Lucario will go to during each stage of the game. The Mewtwo's Legion team uses a Lucario which goes to the Jungle to level-farm in the early game. Later, after reaching Level 5, go to either lane if you are in Solo Queue. If you. are planning a team, however, ShinyMewtwo3 recommends the Bottom Lane!

The Mewtwo's Legion Trainers hope you, as a Lucario Trainer, will have fun with these suggestions! Let's go, Lucario!
